Common questions
Is the bell safe? These are solid bells rather than the open jingle type. Still, check any bell periodically — if the clapper works loose, retire it. Birds have been known to catch a beak or tongue in a damaged bell.
My bird is scared of new toys. Very common and not a problem. Leave the new toy outside the cage where the bird can see it for two or three days, then hang it at the far end of the cage, then move it closer. Forcing it rarely works; patience almost always does.
How many toys should a cage have? Three or four at a time, rotated every week or two, beats a cage crammed with twelve permanent fixtures. Novelty is most of the value.
Mix the types, not just the toys
The most useful rotation has one shredder, one foraging toy, one preening toy and one hard chew. Four of the same kind is really only one toy in four colours.
