Description
Calcium is the mineral a seed diet is worst at supplying, and the one a laying hen needs most. Morning Bird's Calcium Plus pairs calcium and magnesium with vitamin D3 — the D3 matters, because without it a bird absorbs very little of the calcium you give it. That is why plain calcium supplements so often disappoint.
It supports bone strength and density, eggshell quality in laying hens, feather condition, and normal nerve and muscle function.
Liquid or powder?

How to use it
Liquid. 1 teaspoon per cup of water or food — every other day for a bird that is not breeding, daily for a breeding bird or one known to be calcium-deficient. Alternatively 1 drop per 2 oz of body weight direct to the crop. Shake well before use.
Powder. Once or twice weekly for a non-breeding bird, five times weekly for a breeding bird. In water: ¼ teaspoon per ounce. In food: ⅛ teaspoon for a small bird up to 1 teaspoon for an extra-large one. Use one method or the other, not both.

Who tends to need it
- Hens in lay, or any hen laying repeatedly — eggshell production draws heavily on the body's calcium.
- African greys, which are prone to low blood calcium in a way most other parrots are not.
- Growing birds and birds recovering from illness.
- Birds on a seed-only diet, which is usually short of calcium.
A bird already eating a complete formulated diet is probably getting enough, and more is not automatically better. If you are unsure — and particularly if your bird is laying repeatedly or has had a seizure — talk to an avian vet before you start.
Cautions
Not for human consumption. Keep away from children. Not for birds kept for meat or egg consumption. Store cool, dark and dry.
