Zoo-Max have a reputation among owners of the bigger species for making toys that actually survive contact with a macaw. These are their mid-size shredders and chews — thicker material and more of it than the equivalent toy from most brands, which is why they cost a little more and last considerably longer.

Common questions
Are they worth more than a palm toy? Per day of chewing, generally yes for a large or destructive bird. For a cockatiel that takes a week over a palm pinata, the cheaper toy is the better buy.
What are foot toys for? Loose toys a bird picks up and holds in one foot. Put the Groovy Blocks in a shallow dish or scatter them on the cage floor — don't hang them. Expect to pick them up off the floor regularly; throwing them is part of the fun.
Are the colours safe? Bird-safe colourants throughout, as with all Zoo-Max toys.
When should I replace one? When the hardware is exposed, a cord has worn to a thread, or a piece is small enough to swallow whole.
