Morning Bird Probiotics & Superfood Supplements

Three supplements that all work on the same end of the bird: the gut.

Probiotics — 2 oz and 4.5 oz

A five-strain avian probiotic powder at 180 million CFU per gram: Lactobacillus acidophilus, L. delbruckii, L. plantarum, Enterococcus faecium and Bifidobacterium bifidum. Five strains rather than one means coverage along the whole length of the gut rather than a single section.

When people reach for it: after a course of antibiotics, which clears the good bacteria along with the bad; during a diet change, when the gut flora has to adapt to entirely new food; after a stressful move or a new arrival; or simply as a daily supplement.

Dosing: in water, ¼ teaspoon per ounce of clean water, changed daily. Or in food, ¼ teaspoon per half cup. One method, not both. Safe for daily year-round use in adult birds.

Ingredients: the five bacterial cultures, in corn maltodextrin. Moisture max 5%.

Spirulina — 2 oz

Blue-green algae powder, single ingredient, pesticide-free. At a minimum 60% protein it is one of the more concentrated whole foods you can put in front of a bird, and it is used to support feather growth and plumage colour, digestion and general condition.

Dosing: mix ¼ teaspoon evenly through a cup of food. Safe year-round for all birds.

Analysis: protein min 60%, fat min 6%, fibre max 8%, moisture max 7%.

Mountain West Bee Pollen — 2 oz

Whole bee pollen granules, offered as a broad natural food supplement — vitamins, up to 40% protein, a full spectrum of amino acids, 25 or more trace minerals, essential fatty acids, enzymes, bioflavonoids and carotenoids.

Dosing: sprinkle a teaspoon over a cup of fruit, vegetables, soaked seed or soft food daily, or offer it in a treat cup.

It is a food supplement, not a medicine, and Morning Bird publish no formal analysis panel for it.

A word about expectations

These are nutritional supports, not treatments. A bird with persistent loose droppings, weight loss or a poor appetite needs an avian vet — a probiotic is a reasonable thing to give alongside a diagnosis, not instead of one.

Not for human consumption. Keep away from children. Not for birds kept for meat or egg consumption. Store sealed, cool, dark and dry.
