Description
Slow-baked cookies for parrots, in five flavours, made in the USA. Wheat-free, with no added sugars, no artificial colours and no chemical preservatives — the sweetness is rice syrup and honey, and the only preservative is vitamin E.
These are a treat. At 24% fat they are a rich one, so they belong in a training pouch or a foraging toy rather than in the food bowl.
The five flavours

Common base across all of them: oatmeal, vegetable shortening, rice syrup, millet flour, oat flour, honey, flax, whole dry egg, whey and vitamin E (mixed tocopherols).

How to use them
Caitec's label says "used as treat and/or addition to diet". Our practical advice, given the fat content: break them into pieces and use them for something. A whole cookie handed over is a few seconds of pleasure; the same cookie broken up and hidden in a foraging toy is half an hour of work, and the same cookie used across a training session buys you a bird that steps up reliably.
Keep all treats together to a small fraction of the daily diet.

24% fat — is that safe?
As a treat, yes. As a food, no. It is comparable to a nut, which is exactly what you should treat it as.
Which flavour first?
Peanut Butter has the broadest appeal. Corn Fritter is the one to try if your bird is indifferent to sweet things.
Are they hard?
Semi-crunchy rather than rock hard — most birds can break bits off without difficulty, which is part of the appeal.
Can small birds have them?
Yes, in small pieces. A whole cookie is a great deal of fat for a budgie.
