Description
Two supplements for two different halves of a breeding season, and the names tell you which is which. Both are blends of whole and ground seeds and grains with anise oil, fed alongside the normal diet rather than instead of it.

The fat difference is the headline: 12% against 3%, a fourfold gap. Breeder conditions an adult bird into lay; Nestling is a gentle, digestible soft food that gets passed down to chicks.
Ingredients
Breeder: corn, canary grass seed, canola, casein, flax, nyjer, brewers yeast, hulled millet, wheat germ meal, limestone, dicalcium phosphate, oyster shell flour, steel-cut oat groat chips, hulled sesame, black lettuce seed, poppy seed, choline chloride, anise oil, and a full vitamin and mineral premix.
Nestling: ground corn, oat groats, soybean meal, wheat flour, dried whole egg, alfalfa meal, honey, sesame seed meal, wheat germ oil, L-lysine, anise oil, probiotic cultures, and a full vitamin and mineral premix.
Feeding
Volkman's published direction is to feed free choice, with fresh clean water always available, and store cool and dry. As a soft food, Nestling in particular should be offered fresh and removed after a couple of hours rather than left in the cage all day.

Do I need both?
Breeders usually buy both and use them in sequence — Breeder from several weeks before pairing through laying, Nestling from the moment chicks hatch.
Can I use Breeder on a hen who is laying without a mate?
Please talk to an avian vet first. Chronic egg laying is a health problem, and feeding a conditioning supplement can encourage more of it.
Is anise oil there for a reason?
Birds find it palatable, which is the whole point of a supplement — one the bird refuses does nothing.
Can a non-breeding pet bird eat it?
Not as a routine. These are conditioning supplements for a demanding period, not everyday food.
