Description
A ring to hold, a star to destroy
The Bird Tire pairs a thick woven palm ring with a star suspended in the middle. The ring is firm enough to grip or hang from; the star is the part that gets shredded. Two textures in one toy, which is why birds tend to stay with it longer than a single-material chew.
What you get
- Firm woven ring — sturdy enough to grip, climb, or hang from
- Suspended star centre that shreds and swings independently
- Two textures in one toy, which holds interest longer
- 100% natural palm leaf, food-grade vegetable dyes
- Three sizes
Which size?
| Size | Best for |
|---|---|
| Small | Cockatiels, lovebirds, budgies |
| Medium | Conures, quakers, caiques |
| Large | Greys, amazons, macaws |
Common questions
Can a bird get its head through the ring? Sizes are matched so the opening suits the species listed above. Choose by your bird's size, not by the look of it, and check the fit when you first hang it.
Which part goes first? Almost always the star. The ring usually survives well past it — hang a replacement star or a small shredder in its place and keep using the ring.
Will they climb on it? Yes, often. The ring is one of the sturdier shapes in the palm range.
Gets a second life
When the star is gone, clip a foot toy or a small pinata into the ring. You get months out of a toy most owners would have thrown away.
