Common questions
How long does one last? A determined conure will strip a Medium in two to four days. Heavy chewers go faster, and that is the point — shredding is the enrichment, not a defect.
Is palm leaf safe to swallow? Yes. Palm is a recognised bird-safe fibre. Birds shred rather than eat it, and small pieces pass through harmlessly.
Can I refill it? Yes. The hollow body is designed for it — millet sprays, almonds in the shell, and folded paper all work well.
Will it stain my bird? No. The vegetable dyes are colourfast when dry and will not transfer to feathers.
Getting the most from it
Hang it high in the cage where your bird already likes to perch. Birds engage more with toys placed at or above eye level. Rotate two or three pinatas in and out rather than leaving the same one up for weeks — novelty is what keeps a bird interested.
