Super Bird Creations Stainless Steel Tube Bells

Every cage needs one thing the bird cannot destroy. Not because destruction is bad — it is most of what toys are for — but because a bird whose toys all vanish inside a week ends up with an empty cage on the days you have not restocked.

A stainless steel tube bell is that thing. It makes a satisfying noise, it takes any amount of abuse, and it will still be there in ten years.

Built properly

The detail that matters: the clapper is welded in. A bell with a removable clapper is a genuine hazard for a large parrot — a beak that can crack a macadamia can work a clapper loose and swallow it. Welded means it stays put.

Solid stainless steel throughout, with a bird-safe quick link. No zinc, no plating to wear through.

Which size

A note on the naming. Small, Medium and Large describe the bell, not the bird. Super Bird Creations list all three as suitable for large to extra-large birds — Amazons, African greys, eclectus, cockatoos and macaws. If you have a budgie or a cockatiel, this range is not aimed at you; the noise alone would be a lot for a small bird.

Acoustic play is a real category

Super Bird Creations cite five types of parrot play — object manipulation, balancing, locomotory, acoustic, and social. Making noise on purpose is one of them. Watch a grey with a bell and you will see it strike it deliberately, pause, and do it again. That is not accidental.

Worth knowing before you buy: it will be loud, and the bird will use it at six in the morning.

Care

Stainless steel is dishwasher safe and does not need replacing. Wash it when it needs it and put it straight back.

Safety

Hang with the quick link or pear link supplied — never a split ring, spring clip or shower ring. With a bird that hangs its whole weight off a toy, make sure the cage bar it is attached to can take it.
